When you put together important papers or documents make sure you have them in a safe place.
It is a good idea to copy important papes and put a copy in your 72 hour kit,
safe deposit box, or send a copy to a relative just in case of fire, flood, etc. Some
people have reduced the important papers to a very small size so that many papers can
be copied onto one sheet of paper. That way they have another record and it is condensed.
Some have even made a copy for their purse.

You can also scan these papers into your
computer and then put them on a CD or DVD to be able to have mutiple documents in a
very condensed place. This is also good so you can make multiple copies of the CD or
DVD and send them to relatives out of state for safe keeping.
