If you run out of toothpaste or mouthwash:

baking sodaBaking soda toothpaste: mix 1 tablespoon salt and 5 tablespoons baking soda. Add 6 - 9 drops of oil of peppermint or wintergreen and mix well. Label and keep in a tightly covered jar. To use, pour a small amount of powder into the palm of your hand, then wet toothbrush and rub bristles into the powder.

Baking soda mouthwash: dissolve 2 teaspoons salt and 2 teaspoons baking soda in 1 quart of boiling water. Add 10 drops of oil of peppermint, wintergreen or cloves. Label jar.

HoneyBad Breath: People of South America, first thing in the morning gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.
